FOR ARTISTS

Kinglake Art Show is an annual event run by local artists and Kinglake Ranges Rotary, assisted by individual and community group volunteers. If due to any unforeseen circumstances, Kinglake Art Show cannot progress physically, Kinglake Art Show reserves the right to change the dates of display or to cancel the physical exhibition. 

 

Upon entering your artwork in Kinglake Art Show, artists will be required to read and sign the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT and the EXHIBITION AGREEMENT for this event. 

Exhibition organizers will have copies available and will ask you to sign a copy, when you deliver your work for Kinglake Art Show to Kinglake Community Centre, 1 Extons Road, Kinglake.

PRICING AND PAYMENTS 

All fees are non-refundable. 

The Entry Fee is $10 per artwork for adults and FREE for children.

The Opening Event is $20.00 per person*. 

Exhibition entry fee is $2.00 per adult*. 

Programs listing the entering artists, their work and pricing is available to refer to whilst visiting.

Raffle tickets are available for purchase for $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00

*Entering artists may attend the Opening and the exhibition free of charge.
*Children may enter free of charge throughout the event when they are accompanied by an adult. 

 

SCHOOL ENTRY & SUBMISSIONS PROCEDURE 

All junior entries must be received by 6 NOVEMBER.
All junior physical artwork entries must also be submitted by this date to be judged for the show.
Each school must submit their collection as a whole.
As every Junior entry reveives a participant certificate, a complete list of student names must be provided.
(Surnames Optional)

Artwork must be clearly labelled on the back with:
SCHOOL, STUDENT NAME, YEAR LEVEL/AGE, MEDIUM, NAME OF PIECE (if applicable). 

Schools do not need to provide images of the artworks being entered. 

A Kinglake Art Show representative will be available to arrange collection or drop-off of the collective artworks for schools by prior arrangement.
Individual artworks can be picked up from the venue on Sunday after 4.00pm.

ENTRY PROCEDURE 

Artwork may be entered for Kinglake Art Show via:

Please use the entry form provided by Kinglake Art Show to ensure all information has been provided. 

​

Payment for entries can be made by:

All artworks entered must be accompanied by a photo of the complete work. 

If your artwork is incomplete at this stage, this provision may be temporarily suspended and a photo provided at a later stage

Please fill in the ARTWORK INFORMATION LABEL which is available on the website or by EMAIL.
Affix this securely to the back of each 2D piece or base of your 3D artwork prior to submission. 

​

The artist should provide a short artist’s statement for each artwork submitted, approximately 70 words.

 

Artworks must be entered into the correct category with accurate external dimensions that include the frame/matt board (where applicable).

Kinglake Art Show reserves the right to change the entry category of any artwork if necessary. 

​

The Curator’s decision will be final.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP OF ARTWORK

Artists are personally responsible for the delivery of their artwork to Kinglake Community Centre and to collect their artwork at the end of the exhibition.
If you need to make alternative arrangements please call the Curator Maree Gibson on 0419 572 781. 

 

EARLY SUBMISSIONS

Saturday 11 November — 10.00am to 12.00noon 

Artworks must have the ARTWORK INFORMATION LABEL affixed securely to the back of each 2D piece or base of your 3D artwork prior to submission.

Thursday 16 November — 10.00am to 6.00pm. No late artworks will be accepted.

LATE SUBMISSIONS

We are unable to accept late submissions. 

​

COLLECTION PROCEDURE 

All artworks must be collected from Kinglake Art Show Sunday 19 November between 4.00pm and 5.30pm. 

 

Kinglake Art Show does not have the facilities to store or protect any uncollected artworks. 

All artworks must be vacated from the Kinglake Community Centre by the end of the collection period. 

Kinglake Art Show will not be held responsible for the security or storage of artworks that are not collected at the end of the exhibition. 

Please note artworks cannot by stored by Kinglake Art Show

The purchaser and the artist will be required to collect artworks during the specified collection times personally. Artworks may only be collected by an appointed person when previously arranged and the artist/purchaser must provide Kinglake Art Show with an alternative contact person prior to the collection date/time. 

Kinglake Art Show is not responsible for, and are unable to, organize couriers for pick up. 

 

INSURANCE 

It is strongly recommended that suitable insurance covers be enacted by the artist for the duration of the event. Kinglake Art Show is not responsible for any work not delivered to or picked up from 1 Extons Road.

Whilst all possible care for the safe handling and display of artwork will be exercised by Kinglake Art Show all entries are submitted at the total risk of the artist. Kinglake Art Show assumes no responsibility for artwork damaged upon receipt, whilst being displayed or during return. 

Kinglake Art Show is not deemed responsible or any loss, theft or damage to the artworks whilst in its possession or on display from the date of delivery to the date of collection. 

 

INDEMNITY AGREEMENT 

The artist agrees to hold Kinglake Art Show staff and volunteers blameless for any damage, theft or loss of artwork. The artist understands and accepts the risk of submitting/sending/displaying artwork. 

 

TITLE AND COPYRIGHT 

The Artist states that he/she created the artwork, and that it is their original work. 

No artwork is to be a copy of another artist’s work and must not violate that artist’s copyright. 

ThEXHIBITION AGREEMENT or the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT is not intended to, nor does it transfer any rights of title or copyright to Kinglake Art Show

RIGHT OF REFUSAL 

Kinglake Art Show reserves the right to refuse entry to any artist and their submission of artworks at any time at its discretion. 

Kinglake Art Show reserves the right to refuse to display the artwork of artists who fail to sign a copy of the

EXHIBITION AGREEMENT or the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT

 

DISPLAY 

All art works must remain on display for the full duration of the Kinglake Art Show

Exhibits must be presented ready for hanging/display. 2D art should be fitted with appropriate hanging wire or heavy-duty cord. 

3D ART must have a stable base. Any additional props/supports required should be discussed with the curator prior to submission. 

Unusually fragile pieces must be submitted in a condition enabling them to be easily handled. 

Works portraying abuse, pornographic images and general disrespect will not be accepted. 

Nudes will only be accepted at the discretion of the Curator/Director. 

Submitted work should not exceed 1 meter square (including framing). 

Pieces that exceed the limit may only be accepted in negotiation with the Curator. 

Multiple panel artworks such as diptych, tripdich, sets with multiple pieces, etc, are considered as one work and will not be sized, displayed or sold separately. 

Kinglake Art Show reserve the right to limit the number of exhibits. 

 

PROMOTION 

Kinglake Art Show will provide a catalogue containing all artwork entries including the names and relevant details of the exhibitors.

Kinglake Art Show does not accept any responsibility for error, inaccurate descriptions, omissions or any other defect in the publication of on-line or printable material . 

The artist authorises Kinglake Art Show to use and publish information pertaining to the artworks for the purposes of producing a catalogue or otherwise promoting the event by any means including social media, with due acknowledgement to the artist. Kinglake Art Show reserves the right to reproduce images of the artworks for promotional and display purposes. 

Artists must notify Kinglake Art Show in writing prior to the exhibition if they do not wish images of their artwork to be used for exhibition publicity online, or in print or publication. 

Artists may wish to provide a short biography which may be used to provide additional information about the artist and compliment their artwork. 

​

ARTWORK SALES 

All artworks submitted to Kinglake Art Show must be for sale. 

Artworks exhibited in Kinglake Art Show are available to purchase throughout the event and up to 10 days post event dates. 

Artists are required to submit their banking details and ABN number (where applicable) in writing at the point of advice of a sale. 

All monies from any artworks sold will be paid directly to the artist (this may take up to thirty days after the end of the Kinglake Art Show and after appropriate paperwork has been completed). 

A commission of 20% will be deducted from the catalogue price if the work is sold at, or because of, Kinglake Art Show

Artwork prices are inclusive of GST and commission will be calculated from this price. If the artist collects GST, then the sale price must include GST. If you do not have an ABN and are exempt from paying GST you will need to fill out, sign and provide Kinglake Art Show with the STATEMENT BY SUPPLIER form. 

 

ARBITRATION 

In the event a dispute arises under the EXHIBITION AGREEMENT or the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT, the parties will aim to arrive at a satisfactory solution. 

Failing agreement, the dispute shall be submitted to an arbitrator agreed to by the parties. 

Any decision by the arbitrator shall be final and binding upon both parties. 

 

AMENDMENTS 

The EXHIBITION AGREEMENT or the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT may be amended, waived, discharged, modified or terminated only in writing, signed by both parties and attached to this agreement. 

 

DURATION 

This EXHIBITION AGREEMENT or the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT shall commence upon the date of signing.
